There will be a major event taking place at The Loft in Matlock on Saturday, July 20, as part of the Matlock Festival 2014.

Faux Fest gets under way at the venue at 6.30pm and is admission is £3 per ticket.

The team behind Matlock Festival wanted to include a night of live music which would feature the biggest and most famous bands in the world, but how would that be possible?

After looking for inspiration and listening to Tenacious D’s song Tribute... it became apparent what was needed and so the ingenious Faux Fest was born.

Taking to the stage at The Loft will be six tribute acts all playing and starring as six of the world’s favourite acts.

The line-up will be headlined by tributes to Pearl Jam and supported by Foo Fighters, Rage Against The Machine, Arctic Monkeys, Taylor Swift and Frank Turner.

First up as Frank Turner will be local hero to music, Benjy CJ, followed by Motion Replay as Taylor Swift. Arctic Monkeys will be covered by Wirksworth covers band City Limits. With the night now in full swing, next on stage will be Bells On Parade, a band with a reputation to surprise and excite the audience, so expect them to be in full fancy dress.

Foo Fighters will be covered by the superb Few Fighters, one of the country’s finest Foo’s tribute bands. Expect a high octane performance from a very experienced band.

Headlining Faux Fest will be Backspacer, a tribute to world renowned American rock band Pearl Jam.

Backspacer will be playing all of the biggest hits, with some of their personal favourite Pearl Jam songs mixed in.

This is not the greatest gig in the world... this is just a tribute!

Tickets are £3 each, available at Little Gem or Matlock Music Shop. Tickets will also be available on the door from 6.30pm.

Harry Gough, of IndieWirks Promotions, who have helped promote the night, said: “Faux Fest is bringing together six amazing bands, all playing as their favourite artists. Matlock has never seen a gig like it before, so if you’re looking for a great night of live music and a want to sing and dance to your heart’s content, then we’ll see you at The Loft on Saturday, July 19.”

Harry added: “We’re really happy to be involved in what’s going to be a great event.

“Faux Fest is bringing together six top bands. The energy on stage is going to be amazing, I can’t stress enough just how great the night will be.”
