Derby’s outdoor stage is once again set for next month’s popular post-summer annual extravaganza of city-wide live performances and breath-taking acts.
Derby Festé 2013 will take place on September 27-28 and will be produced and presented by Without Walls, in association with Déda, Derby LIVE and Quad.
Since this annual cultural highlight started in 2007, Derby Festé has established itself as one of the best UK street-arts festivals and has attracted some of the highest quality acts, from across the UK and abroad, straight to the city’s streets.
Organisers have announced that the headline act for the Friday evening will be the amazing As The World Tipped performance by Wired Aerial Theatre, which will be shown on Bass’s Recreation Ground.
This extraordinary aerial show tells a powerful tale of ecological crisis in a real life disaster movie in the sky on a precariously moving screen and platform.
Expertly and carefully choreographed, and set to music against a striking stage set up, As The World Tipped lasts around 45 minutes and will bring with it exactly the right level of eye-catching and explosive entertainment to kick-start the whole festival and the family fun of the next day.
Tickets for As the World Tipped start at £5 each or £15 for a family of four.
Tickets can be obtained via www.derbylive.co.uk and www.derbytheatre.co.uk. All other Festé events are free.
Also programmed, and returning for another year, will be the Splash Stage which showcases some of the best talent in Derbyshire.
Keith Jeffrey, director of Quad, said: “Festé gives Derby a chance to shine. “
He continued: “The atmosphere which surrounds Festé is second-to-none and it has become an eagerly anticipated fixture on the city’s cultural calendar.”
