DERBY Gilbert and Sullivan Company will have a very special guest appearing with them for one night only at the Assembly Rooms in Derby on Sunday, October 2.
Comedian, impressionist, actor and Gilbert and Sullivan afficionado Alistair McGowan will be taking the title role in a production of The Mikado, in a very rare example of a nationally-renowned performer appearing alongside members of the one of the leading amateur groups in the area.
Derby Gilbert and Sullivan Company are six times winners of the International Gilbert and Sullivan Festival both here and in the USA, and will be presenting a sparkling, semi-staged and semi-costumed concert performance, providing an unforgettable comic evening of family entertainment. The event also features the National Festival Orchestra and a chorus of 70.
