Take That, with their new trio line-up, will play two dates next year at Sheffield’s Motorpoint Arena, writes Graham Walker.

Gary Barlow, Howard Donald and Mark Owen - now minus Jason Orange and Robbie Williams - will bring their 24 date, eight cities UK tour to the Attercliffe venue on Monday and Tuesday, June 1 and 2.

It is their only Yorkshire date.

Tickets go on sale on Thursday, November 13, at 9am. Call 0114 256 5656 or www.motorpointarenasheffield.co.uk.

At the promoters request no tickets for this tour will be on sale in person from the venue. The Arena will only be selling it’s allocation of tickets for this event online through its web site or through the ticket hotline on 0114 256 5656 - no tickets for this concert will be sold in person at the Arena Box Office.

They are promising greatest hits and will be performing songs from forthcoming album, III, out on December 1.

Special guest is chart-topper Ella Henderson, who recently celebrated both her debut single, Glow and her first album, Chapter One, reaching the top spot in the UK Charts.

Take That, the UK’s most successful live act ever, were last on the road four years ago with their record-breaking tour Progress Live.

Rumour has been rife about when Take That would be announcing their next tour since they officially unveiled the details of the new and seventh album.

These Days, the first single from it, will be released on November 23.

It will chart another poignant moment in the band’s incredible history as the first time Take That have written and recorded as a trio.

The last time Take That released an album was in 2010, when they were a five piece, including oriiginal members Jason Orange and Robbie Williams.

The band have had eight number one albums, 15 number one singles, sold over 30 million albums, won six Ivor Novellos, eight BRITs and sold over seven million concert tickets.

They are defined by some of the most memorable and spectacular live productions in UK music history.

Previous tours have included everything from aerialists, circus performers, a wall of water, holograms, a giant elephant and on the last tour a 60ft robot.

The band’s shows have never failed to excite and surprise their audience.

‘We’ve always been very proud of our live shows and are very excited to be touring again next year.” said the band, in a joint statement today.

“Playing live is something we love the most about what we do and we’re looking forward to putting on the most amazing show we can.

“It will have been four years since our last tour so we’re really keen to get back out on the road to play some of our biggest songs from the last 20 years alongside our new ones. We hope to see you there!”
