Saturday, June 22, will see the tenth annual Whatstandwell family friendly Festival take place at Hankin Farm, New Road, in the barn.
The entrance fee is £5 and Whatstandwell Festival souvenir glasses are available for £1. Gates open at 2pm and the music starts at 5pm.
The festival goes on until 11pm, with a continuous flow of music. There will be a number of bands playing live, including Facsimile, The Standby Setting, iSurrender, Green Fortune, Chase the Rain and The Turner Price.
There will be a licensed bar serving a range of locally-brewed traditional ales from ramton, Wirksworth and Blue Monkey as well as farmhouse cider all the way from Somerset, lager, good wines, snacks and soft drinks. Outside, there will be children’s games and activities in the large field, plus a barbecue. Andrew Frost, local chainsaw artist, will be making a return and conjuring up the odd owl or wizard from a log. The resulting sculpture will then be auctioned for charity. Camping is available on the farm, for a small additional fee, payable to the farm.
Toilets and showers are available on site, and caravans, camper vans and tents can all be accommodated.
