Trombones, trumpets, cornets, horns and all things brass . . .

Erewash Borough Council’s ever-popular programme of free brass band concerts is now is full swing across the region.

The summer series started earlier this month and is always a big hit with music fans of all ages who watch brass bands and wind bands play at venues across the borough.

Cllr Mike Wallis, Erewash Borough Council’s lead member for culture and leisure, said: “The brass band concerts are back by popular demand at indoor and outdoor venues. “

He added: “There is limited seating at some venues and so it is wise to take along your own chair if at all possible.”

The remaining free concerts in June and July in the series are:

n Saturday 22 June, 2pm Matlock Band at Memorial Hall Playing Fields, Breadsall

nSunday, June 30, 2.30pm Newhall Band at the Leisure Green, Derby Road, Draycott

nSunday, June 30, 2pm Bestwood Black Diamonds Band at St Peter’s Park, Little Eaton

nSunday, July 14, 2pm Derwent Valley Wind Band at Village Hall, Beech Lane, West Hallam

n Sunday, July 14, 6.30pm Matlock Band at Victoria Park, Ilkeston
