Pianist homes in for recital

International classical pianist Daniel Johnson will return to his home town to perform a one-off recital.

He will perform a programme of Beethoven, Chopin and Debussy, including the Moonlight Sonata, at the Elder Yard Unitarian Chapel, Chesterfield, on August 5.

A prize-winning graduate from Colchester Institute, Centre of Music and Performing Arts, Daniel has performed for the world’s foremost cruise lines such as Fred Olsen Cruise Lines, P&O Cruises UK and Cunard. He has also featured on BBC radio and in the publication International Piano.

Daniel was a regular performer in Chesterfield, appearing in local concert series andalso the Market Festival, before going to Essex to study with International Australian concert pianist Lesley Young.

This recital will mark Daniel’s return to town as a professional performer.

The concert will take place at Elder Yard on Wednesday at 7pm. Tickets £8 or £6 (concessions).
