A mesmerising combination of folk music and dynamic storytelling comes to north Derbyshire next week when Hollingwood Hub hosts The Devil’s Violin.

Performance storyteller Dominic Kelly will breathe life into folklore tales - of love, loss, drama, danger, horror, humour and extraordinary plot twists. He will be joined by three skilled musicians (cello, fiddle and guitar) whose folk music provides the soundtrack.

Dominic’s credits include performing at the Barbican, National Theatre and British Museum.

His accompanying musicians will be: Dylan Fowler, guitar (The Company of Story Tellers, Alaw); Oli Wilson-Dickson, fiddle (Jamie Smith’s Mabon, Alaw); Sarah Moody, cello (Kneehigh, Wildworks, Travelling Light).

The show takes place on Wednesday, April 13, at 7.30pm. Tickets cost £9 and may be booked by visiting www.chesterfield-canal-trust.org.uk or calling 01246 477569.
