Who’s afraid of the big bad wolf?
You’re about to find out when local theatre company Babbling Vagabonds bring their show The Brothers Grimm to Derby’s Guildhall Theatre on Sunday, April 7, at 3pm.
They will be using shadow play, storytelling, puppetry and pop ups to provide a theatrical family treat for Easter.
The story follows two brothers on a quest to collect stories.
They are caught in a raging storm and take shelter in an old barn. Here they try frantically to save the words they have collected before the rain washes them away forever.
As they empty their suitcases in a desperate attempt to save their precious manuscripts, stories come spilling out and some of the best known fairytales we know come to life.
This is an enchanting tale looking into the world of fairytales. Audiences will be swept away into a realm of epic quests, deep dark forests, and perhaps a big bad wolf.
Shadow play, storytelling, puppetry and pop ups will bring this wild and stormy tale to life.
The show is suitable for brave children aged 4 and upwards and their families and anyone who loves a good story.
Phil Coggins, joint artistic director of Babbling Vagabonds, said: “We are delighted to be visiting Derby’s Guildhall Theatre. We have had so much fun looking at the Grimm fairytales, they really are a brilliant collection of stories and we have chosen our favourite to share with our audiences.”
