The latest Stagefright Comedy Club event is to take place at The Fishpond in Matlock Bath on Wednesday, July 17.

The Edinburgh Festival Double Header, at the venue on South Parade, will feature performances by Matt Forde, Tom Wrigglesworth (pictured above left) and regular MC Anthony J Brown (pictured above right).

As seen on Have I Got News for You and Russell Howard’s Good News and as heard on The Now Show and The News Quiz.

A former political adviser, Matt isn’t a typical 20-something.

A passionate, opinionated and excitable young man, he loves football, Prime Minister’s Questions and pasties.

He has also gone to extraordinary lengths to get close to both Tony Blair and Brian Clough - and has the pictures to prove it.

He’ll be previewing his forthcoming Edinburgh Festival show - The Political Party. Matt is a writer on 8 Out of 10 Cats and Stand-Up for the Week and can also be heard on his own late night phone-in show on the Sony-Award winning talkSPORT.

Every Friday night, Matt tackles the latest news and sports stories with his characteristic intelligence, warmth and wit.

Yorkshire-born comic Tom Wrigglesworth became a national have-a-go hero when he rescued a little old lady from the jaws of bureaucracy, only to be arrested for ‘begging’.

His subsequent sell-out show Open Return Letter to Richard Branson bagged him a Chortle Award for Best Show in 2010 and a nomination for the main Edinburgh Festival award.

He recently won a Sony Award for his Radio 4 series Open Letters.

As seen on Russell Howard’s Good News, Edinburgh Comedy Show and Electric Dreams, his articulate, evocative storytelling is a joy to behold as he previews his latest Edinburgh Festival show Utterly At Odds With The Universe.

Doors open at 7pm for an 8pm start.

Admission is £6 in advance or £8 on the door.
