tHE nation is getting into books and reading in a big way over the next seven days thanks to National Storytelling Week.
First conceived in 2000, the event is gaining momentum each year with more and more locations hosting local get-togethers. Among the venues involved is the Storytelling Cafe in Matlock, joining the celebrations this year with A Smorgasbord of Stories.
On Friday, February 4, the Imperial Rooms will see an impressive array of storytellers taking to the floor. Continuing with their successful programme of events, the cafe will have all of their resident performers taking to the stage to share some of their favourite stories.
The stories start at 7.30 and tickets are only £7 or £3 for students. They can be bought from The Green Way Café, Snitterton Road in Matlock, or by phoning 01629 580023.
