Buxton Opera House and Pavilion Arts Centre has announced the release of its brand-new season of entertainment, covering the second half of spring, all of the summer festival season and the first two months of autumn.
Lots of thrilling events are include, encompassing drama, music, comedy, dance and children and family events.
Brand-new comedy shows coming to Buxton include Al Murray: The Pub Landlord, Andy Parsons, Dylan Moran, Kit And The Widow and Dille Keane in Cowardy Custard, An Evening With Dom Joly, Sandi Toksvig And Sue Perkins, Jimmy Carr, Shappi Khorsandi, Paul Daniels, Sarah Millican, Rob Rouse and Rory Bremner.
Evocative drama is on the agenda with Cranford, Lady Chatterley’s Lover, The Adventures of Baron Munchausen and Dinnerladies.
Outdoor productions of As You Like It and Hamlet by Shakespeare’s Globe Touring Company (set in the Pavilion Gardens), The Woman In White and The Pit And The Pendulum will also be performed.
Music highlights include The Celtic Tenors, English Touring Opera, Seth Lakeman, Loudon Wainwright III, Dennis Locorriere, Jonathan Ansell and Friends, The Westenders, The Animals and Friends, the Buxton Blues Festival headlined by The Pretty Things, Blackmore’s Night, The Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain and Jack Jones.
Children and family entertainment includes Peppa Pig’s Party, The Jungle Book, The Gruffalo’s Child, The Mr Men And Little Miss Party Roadshow, Potted Potter and The Selfish Giant.
As always, there are lots of summer festivals including Buxton Festival, The 18th International Gilbert and Sullivan Festival and Buxton Puppet Festival 2011
Other events include An Evening of Burlesque, Mugenkyo Taiko Drummers, spiritual medium Colin Fry and Psychic and Science.
