Well-known figures from literature, broadcasting and exploration will be sharing their career and life experiences as part of this year’s Buxton Festival.

Best-selling novelist Jeffrey Archer, Radio 4 presenter James Naughtie and explorer Ranulph Fiennes have been booked for talks at the town’s Opera House.

Former politican Jeffrey will be talking about his colourful life and times on Sunday, July 13.

Writer James will talk to MP turned broadcaster Matthew Parris about politics, music and Scottish independence on Sunday, July 20,

The festival’s Evenings With events are rounded off by Sir Ranulph on the last night of the festival on Sunday, July 27. The world-renowned explorer who continually pushed the boundaries of human endurance, talks to Anton Bowring about his career and time in the great frozen wilderness of the Poles.

All three talks will take place in Buxton Opera House and start at 7.15pm. Tickets are priced at £16 and £19.
