A Cromford bookshop has been voted one of the best in the world.
Scarthin Books was named one of the ten Best Bookshops in the World in the Guardian Unlimited Shoptalk supplement.

Owner David Mitchell said despite some independent shops being pushed out of the market over the last few years, Scarthin remains popular.

He added: “Up here we are quite out of the way so it is good to get some recognition

“We do get lots of nice remarks, one of the most common is that people could spend all day in here.

“We are fortunate to be in such a wonderful place and people love visiting the area.”
