Gems to catch online during Buxton Fringe's opening day

Buxton Fringe launches online today, offering more than 80 attractions to watch and listen to for free in the comfort of your own home.

Theatre, music, comedy, visual arts, spoken word, children’s events, film and dance feature in the programme which will keep festival fans entertained until July 19.

One of the highlights of the opening day will be Joanna Lavelle’s four linked dramas Crossing The Line – The Full Story which is based on real-life victims of abuse – wife, police officer, mother and perpetrator.

The programme includes a performance by singers Popoperasops, two sopranos who bring their operatic talents to bear on pop songs, a musical audioplay entitled Alice Goes Everywhere by Buxton Drama League and Mark Gwynne Jones’ audio odyssey Voices From The Peak: Burning Drake.

Edale poet Terry Dammery launches his new verse novel Einstein’s Bicycle. Buxton and High Peak Poets will be sharing their creations and the poetry that inspired them.

Exhibitions by the Burbage Art Group and resident artists at Buxton’s Green Man Gallery will add to the fun of this online festival.
