Author Peter Gray publishes sequel novel

Derbyshire-born author Peter Gray has launched his latest publication, a story set in the county’s coalfields.

Sam’s Kingdom is the sequel to A Certain Summer and follows a youngster getting up to mischief and enjoying adventure as he travels through adolescence.

Sam’s mind drifts into his younger days as he reminisces about haunted houses, wild beasts and even more terrifying … girls!

In Sam’s Kingdom, changes are seen, not only in Samand his friends but also in the local area and the landscape of the Derbyshire countryside.

Peter Gray was born in Highfields, near North Wingfield, in the Fifites. His various professions included mechanic for the National Coal Board, actor, armourer and musician.

He moved to Lincolnshire 13 years ago where he runs a clock restoration business.

Peter is a prolific writer of short stories and poetry. His collection of poems has been published in the new book, With Feeling.
