BAKEWELL: Choral Society’s summer concert at Medway Centre

Bakewell Choral Society offers a diverse programme at its Summer Concert at the Medway Centre on July 6, at 7.30pm.

The centrepiece of the evening is John Rutter’s “The Sprig of Thyme”, an attractive collection of traditional folk songs arranged by the composer.

Bob Chilcott is a former member of the Kings’ Singers and uses such diverse contributors as Sassoon, Ravenscroft, Spike Milligan and The Apochrypha.

The final work of the evening is the joyful birthday ode “Come ye sons of Art” by Purcell.

Soloists from the RNCM will offer songs by Gurney, Finzi, Purcell and Quilter.
