On the Bla Bla Bla bill will be the Reverend Carl Edwards, a real life vicar and musician whose influences include rock, classical and gospel.

His main influence is folk, because, he says: “It’s easier to play than all the other stuff’.

Next up is the singer-songwriter Mike Featherstone who will perform his own compositions. After a solo set Mike will continue as band leader of the three-piece outfit Mamparra Smith, which offers a fuse of funk, Latin, jazz and hard-ish rock.

Blues and rock fans are in for a treat with an upbeat set from Bin 53 with Dave Speak on slide guitar, Dave Jones on double bass, Tim Kearney on drums and Ric Bateman on vocals, guitar and harmonica.

Rounding off the night will be Rose Amongst Thorns, who perform an indie/folk/rock combination with energy and passion. The group includes Rosalie Scarlett (vocals), Pete Williamson (vocals), Brin Ladd (vocals, guitar), Martin ‘Wolfman’ Hankins (guitar), Loz Stratford (bass) and Ste Baker (drums).

Bla Bla Bla takes place at Pavilion Arts Centre on Friday, February 20, at 8pm. Tickets £7.50. Contact 0845 127 2190 or book online at www.buxtonoperahouse.org.uk
