The search is on for a champion mirth-maker to succeed Gina Jenkinson who claimed the Crooked Smile award in Chesterfield last year.

She was the first woman to claim the trophy in the competition’s six-year run.

Gina will add to her credits when she makes her Edinburgh Festival debut next month.

Have you got what it takes to follow in her footsteps and make people laugh?

This year’s Crooked Smile competition will be held at the Winding Wheel on September 17 with £100 and paid gigs up for grabs.

To enter, send in a CD or DVD of three to five minutes worth of material to the Winding Wheel, Holywell Street, Chesterfield, marked Crooked Smile.

The closing date for entries is August 14.
