That’s the ethos behind Skintfest which will see more than 30 bands play in Chesterfield over Easter weekend.

The festival was founded in 2011 by Sam Hague who wanted to make an event for everyone who couldn’t afford a major festival ticket.

Skintfest has grown in popularity over the years with last year’s event attracting 1,000 music lovers.

Organisers Sam and Ollie Horner have worked with artists such as Neck Deep who are now selling out massive venues across the world. Ollie said: “We also pick some of Chesterfield’s best local bands for the event and give them a chance to showcase their music at both the event and after party. We make no money off the festival and we put it on for the joy of doing so, it’s a big risk but we love it!”

This year’s event takes place at DCAS on Springbank Road, Chesterfield, on April 3, 4 and 5 from 12noon to 7pm. Entry 14+ years, admission is £10 each day.

Headline attractions include Pritchard vs Dainton from Dirty Sanchez performing a live stunt show, Decade who have supported A Day To Remember and Desolated who have recently toured America.MC Devvo will be back by popular demand and there will be a set from local favourites Take The Seven. Following the daytime event there is an after party each night at Real Time Live where there will be live tribute, local and covers bands performing. The after parties start at 8pm, are open to 18+ years and have a £3 entry fee or a £1 entry fee if you’ve been to the daytime show.
