Outdoor cinema company to screen family classics in Bakewell
Movie lovers can look forward to a thrilling August Bank Holiday in Bakewell thanks to a packed bill of family classics and new blockbusters with one of the UK’s premier outdoor cinema companies.
Hideaway Cinema will be setting up at the Showground for a five day weekend with 13 screenings to choose from.
Chief executive Jack Denman said: “We know society needs normality and routine after a year like no other. Anguish and pain can only be endured for so long, and we hope to bring a small slice of the normality and freedom unique to the world of film.
“We are excited to bring Hideaway Cinema to a venue near you and know that you will get to enjoy the experience, finally.”
The programme kicks off on Thursday, August 26, with the Hollywood love story La La Land and comic book capers courtesy of The Suicide Squad.
The following day brings a matinee with the much-loved Paddington, followed by Harry Potter finale The Deathly Hallows Part 2.
Saturday morning will kick off with a pair of cartoon legends in Tom & Jerry: The Movie, then Disney’s animated ocean adventure Moana, and slam-dunking sequel Space Jam: A New Legacy.
On Sunday, say ‘hakuna matata’ to The Lion King before limbering up for Dirty Dancing and more musical drama with In the Heights.
Things come to a close on Monday with The Greatest Showman, Grease and A Star Is Born.
Hideaway Cinema hopes that social restrictions will have been fully relaxed by August but to ease any remaining Covid-safety concerns, tickets are available for a socially-distanced pods of up to six people – although larger groups can be seated in adjacent pods.
Early bird standard tickets are available now for £12.63 for anyone wanting to bring their own chair or blanket. VIP tickets for a chair in prime viewing location can currently be bought for £16.58.
Popcorn, sweets, chocolate, hotdogs and nachos will be on sale, along with a mouth-watering array of street food vendors and a fully licensed bar.
