Ghost Story Day to be held at Quad

Derby arts centre Quad, in collaboration with city publisher Boo Books, is hosting a Ghost Story Day to celebrate the release of Haunted, the latest anthology from the city’s independent press.

Ghost Story Day runs on November 22 and opens with an all-day writing workshop Writing Ghost Stories, offering all the tools and techniques you need to create a truly chilling tale, including how to build atmosphere, pace your ghost stories, create a ‘reveal’, characterisation within the genre and more. This session is ideal for anyone wanting to explore this perennially popular area of literature.

This will be followed by a book launch for Haunted, a collection of spine-chillers.

Presenting a blend of the traditional and the modern, the paperback edition will be produced in a limited run, with Ghost Story Day being one of the first opportunities to purchase the book. Boo Books’ editor and publisher Alex Davis will be joined by authors Amanda Bigler and Paul Melhuish.

The workshop runs from 10am-4pm, and tickets are available for £15 or £13 concessions, including free entry to the Haunted Book Launch.
