An ice time for all the family

Don’t miss out on your chance of a festive skate at the biggest ice rink between now and January 4.

The National Ice Centre’s Christmas experience will feature Christmas lights, a huge tree and seasonal tunes.

The venue will also be hosting a number of other events including a Christmas Family Foam party, and plenty of disco and family skating sessions.

Plus, with a large Olympic sized ice rink, there’s plenty of room to skate along to Christmas music with friends, family and colleagues.

Prices start from £6.50 for adults and family passes are available from £27 for a family of four, including skate hire.

Festive food and drinks will be available so customers can enjoy some seasonal treats in the recently refurbished Sub Zero café before, during or after skating.

Please note there will be a £2 spectator fee for people to watch their friends/family skate from the side of the rink over Christmas. This will be payable on the day.

Meanwhile, for a second year running, the National Ice Centre Nottingham will be host to international short track speed skating event, Starclass 2016. The event will run from January 8-10, and will see some of the best talent from Western Europe compete together on the ice.

Midway between their international seasons, the competition will feature Olympic squad, GB Short Track. Members of the squad are currently hard at work competing against the best skaters in the world from Canada to Sweden, Japan to Holland, but they will all be back in Nottingham for this annual event.

With British stars such as Murray Cochrane, winner of the Europa Cup 2015, this event will be a great opportunity to see the current and future Olympians in action, and even better, on home ground.
