This started in 2005 when he celebrated his 40th birthday.

Having had an official party back at the beginning of this year to mark his half-century, Andrew has organised a choral extravaganaza

in the Crooked Spire churh on Saturday, May 16, at 7.30pm.

The evening will feature four choirs - Chesterfield G&S Society, Baslow Choir, Holymoorside Choral Society and Musicwork Vocal Ensemble - all of which Andrew is the musical director.

Each will sing a ‘solo’ slot and then join together for four ‘massed choir’ pieces featuring around 130 singers. Chris Flint and Carol Reid will accompany on piano and Ian Brackenbury on the church organ.

Tickets cost £6 in advance from the Visitor Information Centre, the church, choir members or call 01246 211655.
