New evening spa experience is the perfect way to unwind

I can't think of a much better way to spend a Tuesday evening than relaxing in a spa and then enjoying a delicious meal and this is exactly what I was treated to recently at Ragdale Hall in Melton Mowbray.

Ragdale Hall has launched a new Evening Spa Experience where you can enjoy the many spa experiences and then indulge in a two-course meal at the brand new Verandah Bar.

On arrival we were given a tour of the hall which was like a maze with so many different relaxation areas.

Getting into the spa we were spoilt for choice of where to head first but we opted for the Waterfall pool, which starts off inside before leading you out into the open. We loved the novelty of being outside on a cold February night.

However, you did feel the cold as soon your body was out of the water, so we went straight into the Colourflow Cave which is at a temperature between 40 to 45 degree C.

Having seen photos of the spa beforehand on Ragdale Hall’s website we were intrigued to see the Candle Pool.

This is one of the completely silent rooms in the spa where you can float in the water surrounded by candle light.

But being a chatty group we didn’t stay in here long and we went into the Volcanic Salt Bath which is a steam room with menthol in the air.

After a bit of convincing we decided to try the Ice Fountain. The idea of putting an ice cold flannel on my face didn’t appeal to me but it did feel great straight after coming out of the hot Volcanic Salt Bath.

And to cap off the spa experience we had a good soak in the jacuzzi.

There were parts of the spa we didn’t get chance to experience including the Thought Zone and the Scented Room.

Still in our swimwear and robes we then went through to the Verandah Bar for our meal.

There’s something weird about eating a two course meal in a robe - but in a spa it is completely acceptable.

The food was excellent and I was spoilt for choice but I went for the burger which was cooked perfectly with a red onion relish and cheese and it came with a jenga tower of chunky chips.

For dessert I couldn’t resist the double chocolate pot which was delicious and very indulgent.

The meal was rounded off with a tea and biscuit.

I left Ragdale Hall feeling incredibly relaxed and well looked after thanks to the great staff both in the spa and the Verandah Bar.

There is plenty to do including a gift shop. beauty shop, hair studio and a gym.

The Evening Spa Experience is available now, allowing you to arrive at 6.30pm and spend your evening de-stressing before departing at 9.30pm, feeling chilled and refreshed.

The launch price for the evening is £49 (Monday to Thursday), and £59 (Friday, Saturday and Sunday).
