Peak Youth presents Half a Sixpence at Chesterfield’s Pomegranate Theatre

Nearly 40 performers from eight to 17 years will tread the boards in a musical which propelled Tommy Steele to fame.

Half A Sixpence has been selected as Peak Youth’s production at Chesterfield’s Pomegranate Theatre from June 1 to 3.

Sean Fagan makes his debut with the group. He plays the demanding lead role of Kipps, dancing, singing and acting his way through every scene. Tommy Steele took this role in the 60s film.

The love of Kipps’ life, Ann, is played by Melissa Shaw in her last role before going to university. Darcy Thorpe plays Helen, Kipps’ second love interest, while Khai Jackson is cast as eccentric playwright Chitterlow.

Delph Richards is musical director of the show which includes songs s such as I Don’t Believe A Word of It and Flash Bang Wallop. Kaye Gilbert is the choreographer.
