Poolsbrook Country Park hosts Armed Forces Weekend

Staveley Armed Forces and Veterans Association will once again fly the flag in tribute to military and civilian services personnel.

Vice Lord Lieutenant, Col. John Wilson, Vice Admiral Peter Hudson, the High Sherriff of Derbyshire, MPs and Derbyshire dignitaries will be among those celebrating the event at Poolsbrook Country Park on July 11 and 12.

Entertainment includes Belcanto Male Voice Choir (Saturday), Long Eaton Silver Prize Band (Saturday) and Ireland Colliery Chesterfield Band (Sunday).

Other attractions will include Stewies Boot Camp, First World War photographic exhibition, fun dog show, climbing wall, shooting range, kayaks, archery, birds of prey and vintage vehicle displays.

The event runs from 9.30am to 5.30pm. Free admission, parking £1. Shuttle buses will run from Staveley Leisure Centre to the park on a half-hourly service.
