Local three-piece, Educatables picked up prizes of recording time with local studios when they were crowned as the area’s best band in November.

And the lads have used their recording sessions with generous prize providers The Foundry, Lock Up, SCART and Unit 5 studios to record a special EP which they’re now selling for charity.

And sales of the EP throughout this week will be used to raise funds for Cancer Research UK.

Drummer Ricky Barson explained: “We’ve all been affected by cancer in some way at some point in our lives and this charity has no funding source other than the public.

“My missus’ mum has been diagnosed with cancer and we wanted to help raise some funds and we thought thios would be a good way of helping.
