Rock covers act to play at Queen’s Arms

Classic rock covers band Synner will play the Queen’s Arms, Bakewell, on Saturday, April 25.

The band, which boasts members of some of the UK’s top tribute acts, have been gigging for the last few years in the Midlands and North and are acclaimed as one of the best covers acts around.

A setlist crammed with the very best of bands including AC/DC, Black Sabbath, Budgie, Iron Maiden, Queen, Led Zeppelin, Saxon, Rainbow, Metallica and many more is promised and admission is free.

n Matlock Artists Society has again booked the large gallery at Arkwright Mill, Mill Lane, Cromford for its annual exhibition.

Over 25 years, Matlock Artists Society has grown and built up a fine reputation for its programme of activities during the year, culminating in its exhibition, which runs from July 4-17.

The exhibition opens daily from 10am to 5pm, admission is free and there is disabled access.

Entries are judged by professional artists and winners will be awarded trophies.

Paintings, unframed prints and cards will be on sale and there are shops, a car park and refreshments available at the cafe on the site. Over the years visitor numbers have increased considerably and our exhibition has been warmly received by the local community and by holiday visitors.
