Success for rising band

Parasight are a young local rock band who have received a great response to the release of their debut single Shattered Glass, which is out on the Belper-based label Sound-Hub Records.

The track is available on all major online music download services, but the band’s goal was for the single to appear in the iTunes Rock Chart Top 100 on release day. Coincidentally, Shattered Glass was also selected to be played on BBC introducing East Midlands the same day. The result was that the debut single reached a very impressive chart position of 57.

“It was very exciting, but a bit hectic, as we were playing two events on that day,” said Bradley Smith, Parasight’s lead singer.

“We were representing Fleet Arts with an acoustic set at Belper Goes Green, then later, we headlined the Ripley Music Festival Fundraiser at The Hollybush in Marehay. We were all trying to keep an eye on the chart position and listen out for Shattered Glass being aired on BBC Radio Derby, as well as playing two gigs.”

Bradley, 18, is joined by band mates Joe Griffiths, 18, Tom Platts, 16, Danny Guyler, 15, and 14-year-old, Thomas Spray. “The Sound-Hub team have not only recorded and produced this track, but have guided us through the whole process of the single release and it has been an honour to have worked with them,” said guitarist Tom.

The band’s next gig is a joint headlining slot with Sony Artist, RnB/Soul singer Jamie Joseph, at Whatstandwell Festival on Saturday, June 20.
