Ellesmere Musical Theatre Company stage The Addams Family

Hathersage resident Tey Kamal is enjoying a whole new family life with a theatre company.

He plays the part of Pugsley in The Addams Family which runs at Sheffield’s Montgomery Theatre until Saturday, March 28.

Staged by Ellesmere Musical Theatre Company, this is a new tale featuring the familiar characters of Gomez, Morticia, Uncle Fester, Wednesday and Lurch. There is also a company of Addams Family ancestors brought back from beyond the grave to tell the tale of Wednesday’s love for a ‘normal’ boy and the hilarious consequences of a family dinner party.

Tey is no stranger to the stage, having played Bugsy in Bugsy Malone and Gaston in Beauty and the Beast. This is his first time in an adult musical theatre production. He said: “I have a little brother of my own, so I have been able to imagine what it is like to beWednesday’s tortured younger brother, Pugsley.’

Tey shares the role with Rhys Quinn from Sheffield.
