Hathersage Players stage panto adaptation of The Princess and The Pea

Scriptwriter Victoria Crooks has not only adapted a fairy tale which Hathersage Players will present as their annual panto, but also directs the production.

This year’s choice is The Princess and The Pea which will be staged at Hathersage Memorial Hall next week.

Ella Thompson plays Princess Pea, Annie Allen is Prince Charming and Christopher Tupling plays the dame Granny Greenfingers.

Among the large cast of villagers are ten children from the primary school.

The panto features the latest songs from Disney’s Frozen and The Lego Movie as well as old perennials like Ken Dodd’s Happiness.

Performances run from Wednesday, February 18, to Saturday, February 21, at 7.30pm with a Saturday matinee at 2.30pm.
