This is the latest position for festivals around the county:

The new SIGNALS festival, which was due to take place at Crich Tramway Village with The Charlatans headlining, has been postponed. A statement on the website says: “Following Monday’s announcement from the prime minister and the ongoing COVID19 situation, we are disappointed to announce that SIGNALS Festival will no longer be able to go ahead on the planned date of 12 June 2021.“The government road map set out that there will be a 50% capacity cap on outdoor events and social distancing measures will still be in place until later in June. As a small, independent Festival we are not able to run the event with these restrictions in place.“However, the team are looking at options to re-schedule to another time, so please bear with us. We will bring you an updated announcement as soon as we can. A big thank you to all ticket holders for their patience and support.”

Buxton International Festival will go ahead from July 8 to 25. A statement on the website says: “Preparations are well underway for this year’s Buxton International Festival and we are looking forward to announcing more details very soon. Our priority is to keep you safe while you enjoy a wonderful series of operas, music and books. To do this we are considering different festival scenarios and have adapted our programme. We are aiming to share an update with you at the beginning of March.”

Michael Williams, chief executive officer of Buxton International Festival, said that the festival would open with Stephen Sondheim’s A Little Night Music and the final day would feature authors such as Margaret MacMillan, James Rebanks, Andrew Marr and Neil Oliver.

Stainsby Festival is scheduled for July 16-18. A message on the website says: “Stainsby Festival still has everything crossed in the hope of bringing you a festival this year.”

The live Indietracks festival, due to take place from July 24-26, has been cancelled. A statement on the website says: “We’re really sad to say that Indietracks will not be going ahead in 2021. The ongoing Covid-19 pandemic has greatly impacted the Midland Railway Butterley where the festival is held, forcing them to close for several months. We hope to run a virtual Indietracks event again this year, to help raise funds for the railway.”
