For those about to rock, head for The Flowerpot

Prepare to rock when AC/DC UK bring their tribute act to The Flowerpot in Derby on Friday, March 6.

After five years of extensive touring, AC/DC UK are now widely considered to be Europe’s premier tribute to rock legends AC/DC.

Their highly energetic live show covers every era of AC/DC’s lengthy career from 1976’s High Voltage through to 2008’s Black Ice.

At an AC/DC UK show, you can expect to hear all the classic hits such as Thunderstruck, Back in Black, Highway to Hell, Rock & Roll Damnation and many more.

But the band also caters for the hardcore AC/DC fans by playing many lesser known numbers too. Each band member’s passion for the sound of AC/DC has brought them together to form the closest show you are ever likely to see in honour of one of the best rock bands ever.

Get yourself down to The Flowerpot for a two-hour set of high voltage rock ‘n’ roll.

Then, on Saturday, March 7, Karnataka are the visitors to the King Street venue.

Currently on a UK tour to promote their brand new studio album Secrets Of Angels, Karnataka have gained an international reputation as innovators in their field, creating beautiful, melodic rock with a unique Celtic edge.

They are made up of another international lineup of world class musicians, including Hayley Griffiths (Riverdance, Lord of The Dance, Best Classicial Crossover Artist 2010), Ian Jones on bass and acoustic guitar, Enrico Pinna (Italy) on lead guitars, Cagri Tozluoglu (Istanbul Turkey) on keyboards.

Secrets of Angels is the new and hotly anticipated album from Karnataka. Featuring eight brand new tracks and showcasing a more dynamic and symphonic direction, the new album explores themes from despair, anguish and the futility of war to love across cultural divides and culminates in the 21-minute opus and epic title track, Secrets of Angels.

Finally, on Thursday, March 12, there’s the latest visit to the venue by Mike Peters, legendary frontman of Welsh rockers The Alarm.

He is embarking on a solo acoustic tour to celebrate 30 years since the release of The Alarm’s landmark album Strength.

“Give Me Love, Give Me Hope, Give Me Strength” – the opening words from The Alarm’s 1985 UK/US Top 40 hit song Strength which gave its name to the band’s career best selling album that celebrates its 30th anniversary in 2015.

Following on from the hugely popular Declaration Tour 2014, Mike Peters’s one -man band Alarm concept will present Strength in a similar contemporary style featuring performance, stories and images to honour the legacy of the album.

Doors open at 8pm for all three gigs.

Admission is £10 for AC/DC UK, £12 for Karnataka and £15 for Mike Peters.
