Treasure Island to be broadcast live from Olivier Theatre, London

Robert Louis Stevenson’s story of murder, money and mutiny Treasure Island is to be broadcast live from the Olivier Theatres to cinemas in the UK and internationally on January 22.

It’s a dark, stormy night. The stars are out. Jim, the inn-keeper’s granddaughter, opens the door to a terrifying stranger. At the old sailor’s feet sits a huge sea-chest, full of secrets. Jim invites him in – and her dangerous voyage begins.

This new adaptation - which will be screened at Chesterfield’s Cineworld - is by Bryony Lavery, whose original plays include Frozen (Birmingham Rep, National Theatre and New York) and Beautiful Burnout (Frantic Assembly/National Theatre of Scotland).
