VIDEO: Live @ The Cat presents another double bill of music

Live @ The Cat sessions return to Buxton’s Cat and Fiddle Inn later this month with another enticing double bill of music.

Traditional and contemporary folk trio Nelson Peach will take to the stage at the on Saturday March 29, at 4pm, followed 24 hours later by strings pairing Northern Connection Duo on Sunday March 30.

Altrincham-based Nelson Peach met at Lymm Folk Club and have been playing together for over ten years. Their rendering of acoustic folk and roots music earns them a well-deserved reputation as a lively and entertaining band.

Rick and Lesley Nelson and Richard Peach between them play cittern, mandolin, fiddle, banjo, flute, whistles and guitar. Their music is a mix of traditional and contemporary material and their song arrangements combine strong instrumental playing with voices in two and three part harmonies.

They play regularly for folk clubs and festivals in the North West, as well as on the folk trains which run from Manchester.

Their recent CD ‘Jack Frightenem’ received praise and a ‘thumbs up’ review in the national fRroots magazine.

Sunday’s performers, Northern Connection, are a strings duo who perform a mixture of rockabilly, country and Americana.

Both performances start at 4pm and admission is free.
