The Rock & Bike festival roars back to South Normanton’s Carnfield Hall from July 16-19 with Magnum and Big Country this year’s star attractions.

Magnum, including original founder members frontman Bob Catley and guitarist Tony Clarkin, are best known for their 1985 album On A Storyteller’s Night and 1986 follow-up Wings of Heaven, the latter spawning three top 40 singles.

Big Country managed to evoke the sound of bagpipes and traditional Scotland through their guitar work.

Also on the bill are Welsh glam metallers Tigertailz, most famous for their 1990 album Bezerk which made the Top 40 in the UK albums chart and spawned hit singles Love Bomb Baby and Heaven.

Over 25 bands will rock the site over the three days, including A Foreigners Journey plus tributes to AC/DC, Bon Jovi, Slade, Areosmith, Megadeth, Judas Priest, The Prodigy, The Levellers, Joan Jett & The Runaways, Whitesnake and Steel Panther.

There will also be original music from the likes of Savage, Fahran, Chase The Ace, Stone, Take Me Home, Down In One, MRB, and House of Thieves.

There will be a Custom and Classic Bike n Trike show with entries from the best machinery around Europe, a tattoo competition with prizes for best male and female and fancy dress competitions for all ages.

This family-friendly festival also boasts a wide range of food, real ales, trade stores, a RockAoke marquee,fairground rides and archery

The Rock & Bike Festival will take place in the grounds of the historic Carnfield Hall estate, as seen on TV’s Most Haunted, situated just 1.5 miles from junction 28 of the M1. Gates open at noon on July 16, and close at noon on July 19.

To be in with a chance of winning a pair of tickets, name Thunder’s celebrity drummer, who performed at the festival last year and will be back again this summer.

Tickets are £40 a ticket for the event and there is free parking for bikes/ trikes and the disabled.
