Young singers to perform popular solo from The Snowman
Twelve Derbyshire youngsters have been given the opportunity to sing the solo Walking in the Air with a professional orchestra.
Their big break will come during a screening of The Snowman at six venues countywide including Buxton Pavilion Arts Centre on Sunday, November 29 and the Winding Wheel, Chesterfield, on December 7.
The singers include Isobel Ryder, 9, from Dronfield Junior School, Ruby Roose, 10, from Youlgrave Primary, Maria Theakston, 10, from All Saints Junior School, Matlock, Jenna Ward, 11 from Lady Manners, Bakewell, Lucy Atkinson, 13, from Dronfield Henry Fanshawe School and Alexander Kirkland, 14, from St Mary’s High School, Chesterfield.
Carrot Productions, whose managing director Rachel Whibley lives in Glossop, has teamed up with Derbyshire Education Music Hub for the concert.
