DERBYSHIRE: Top food businesses

The county’s finest food and drink venues have been praised in a prestigious award ceremony.

TV chef Simon Rimmer named the winners of the Derbyshire Food and Drink Awards at Chatsworth House.

The awards, run by Derbyshire County Council saw accolades given to Foresters bar and restaurant, in Two Dales, for Best Family Venue, and Robin Maycock Family Butchers, in Holloway, for Local Producers of the Year.

The Red Lion pub and bistro, at Stonedge, and The Devonshire Arms, at Beeley, were jointly awarded the title of Derbyshire Gastro Pub of the Year.

Cllr Kevin Parkinson, cabinet member for regeneration, said: “The food and drink sector plays an important role in the Derbyshire economy and our awards give much deserved recognition to some very talented people.”
