New funeral home opened

The Co–operative Funeralcare has opened in Firs Parade, Matlock.

It features a remembrance room, arranging room and reception area and has been decorated in warm, pastel colours in a bid to make it more welcoming and less intimidating to bereaved families.

Supporting families will be funeral arranger Lyn Towlson, who has ten years experience with The Co-operative Funeralcare in the area.

Manager Daryl Westwood has 16 years experience in the industry.

He said: “Opening up a funeral home in Matlock is a new venture for The Co-operative Funeralcare.

“This investment will help us to provide a high quality service to local people, saving families in the community having to travel to our nearest funeral homes in Sutton in Ashfield and Mansfield.”
