Shopfitters land performance venue deal

Elite Shopfitters has become the latest Doncaster company to benefit from the town’s Civic and Cultural Quarter project.

The company, of Queens Court Industrial Estate, has won a £975,000 contract from VINCI Construction for work on Doncaster’s £20 million performance venue.

Elite is working on the venue’s 620-seat main auditorium, a 200 -seat auditorium, dance and drama studios, educational spaces, a cafe and bar, large open foyer and box office.

Vinci Construction’s regional director Keith Shivers said: “We are delighted to have appointed Elite Shopfitters and we are confident that together with Elite’s expertise in joinery we will deliver a landmark performance venue that Doncaster and the local community can be proud of.”

Doncaster mayor, Peter Davies, said: “This is another success story for local companies winning work and benefiting from the major projects being delivered across the borough.”

Elite’s success follows on from a Meet the Buyer event, in March, organised by Doncaster Council’s Invest in Doncaster team to ensure local firms got the opportunity to tender for suitable contracts.

Invest in Doncaster is promoting further work packages amongst Doncaster-based companies.
