No coronavirus hospital deaths in Chesterfield for 8 days

No coronavirus deaths have been recorded at Chesterfield Royal Hospital for eight consecutive days, data from NHS England shows.

Since the pandemic hit 129 people who tested positive for coronavirus have died at the Royal. As of 4pm on Monday, 15 June there have been 233 confirmed cases of Covid-19 in the town.

Nationally, a further 79 people who tested positive for Covid-19 have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 28,061.

The patients were aged between 35 and 98 years old and eight, aged between 35 and 92, had no known underlying health conditions. Sixteen of the latest hospital fatalities were recorded in the Midlands.

On Monday the government announced the UK’s confirmed death toll across all settings had risen to 41,736. March 4 was the last time the UK recorded zero coronavirus fatalities.
