From Burton's and John Collier to Mace's and Wakefield Army Stores - looking back on Chesterfield shops of the seventies

It was the decade of the Space Hopper, the Ford Cortina and the Chopper bike – and in Chesterfield there were plenty of great stores to do your shopping in the 1970s.

Sadly, many of the names we used to visit fifty years ago are no longer with us. Here we look back on some of the shops of yesteryear and the memories they still hold for many of us...
