Who can you spot in these loved up pictures taken at the Peak District's love lock bridge over the years?

With Valentine’s Day just around the corner love is most certainly in the air and over recent years Bakewell Bridge has become a beacon for lovers as they join in the trend of locking in their love and throwing away the key into the River Wye.

The tradition of love locks fastened to bridges dates back to Serbia during World War I, after a woman died of heartbreak when her lover deserted her for another woman he met at war. The local women, horrified at befalling the same fate, began to fasten padlocks on the bridge where the two lovers used to meet. Today, love lock bridges can be found all over the world.

Closer to home the trend caught on Derbyshire almost a decade ago and visitors would flock to Bakewell to leave their mark in history with their names or intials marked on to a padlock before throwing away the key with a wish.
