This group of smiling badminton players were enjoying a game in Matlock Bath’s Pavilion.
The photograph was brought in to the office by Matlock resident Beryl Findon, who can be seen to the left of the picture in a dark dress.
Beryl, now 84, lived in Matlock Bath from 1937 to 1954. She worked at Thorntons chocolate factory. Her job took her to Manchester were she was the supervisor of six jobs. She has since returned to Matlock.
This photo, believed to be taken in 1951, shows the group in the Pavilion ballroom where they played on a Tuesday and Wednesday evening.
Beryl said the Pavilion used to host a lot of actvities including table tennis and dancing.
