Bearded Theory prize up for grabs

bearded Theory returns next month, billing itself as Derbyshire’s biggest family friendly festival, and we have teamed up with the organisers to offer you a fantastic competition prize.

The festival runs from May 13-15 in the stunning surroundings of the National Trust’s Kedleston Park, near Derby, and we have one family weekend ticket (two adults and up to two children), plus a parking pass up for grabs in our competition.

Over 100 live acts will be appearing at the festival with the three headline acts being confirmed as Ivor Novello Award-winning band Athlete on the Friday, The Waterboys on the Saturday, and Alabama 3 on the Sunday.

The festival will also feature the fancy dress theme of ‘Lords and Ladies’ throughout the weekend.

The headliners complete an eclectic line-up of world class artists, which include acts as diverse as The Membranes, The Whip, The Skints, The Last Republic, Sonic Boom 6, Cosmo Jarvis, Mama Rosin, The Undertones, Dirty Revolution, Dub Pistols, Justin Sullivan (New Model Army), Ed Tangent, Transglobal Underground, Neck, The Beat, Bottom star Adrian Edmondson’s folk act, The Bad Shepherds and over 100 more.

Wagner Carrhilo will also be bringing the X-Factor to the festival, performing in the ‘family-friendly’ Sunday lunchtime slot, and also hosting the annual World Record Attempt for People Wearing False Beards.

Bearded Theory has firmly established itself over five years as the first ‘proper’ festival of the season.

It will see over 100 bands and DJs perform over seven stages. The 850-acre site will feature a new stage called The Drop Inn, a new Magical Sounds Chill Out Dome, site artwork, showers, craft village, huge children village, real ale/cider bars, world foods and much more. Live-in vehicle facilities have also been dramatically improved, with all ticket holders being given free shower tokens.

Tickets are priced at £70 (Adults), £34 (Under 16s), £24 (Under 12s) and Under 5s get in free (a ticket is still required).
