DERBYSHIRE: Duchess of Cambridge goes into labour

Derbyshire residents and dignitaries are preparing to celebrate after the expectant Duchess of Cambridge has finally gone into labour.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince William and Kate, had been expecting the birth of their first child last weekend and the world’s media have been waiting patiently for the latest news outside St Mary’s Hospital, in Paddington, West London.

BBC Radio 2 announced at about 7.45am how Kate Middleton had gone into labour this morning, Monday, July 22.

The couple first met at university and were married in April 2011. Kate, 31, had a difficult start to her pregnancy after spending three days in hospital for acute morning sickness.

Prince William took leave from his role as an RAF air sea rescue pilot at Anglesey to be beside his wife’s side before the birth.

The baby will be third in line to the throne after Prince Charles and Prince William and the child will be known as His or Her Royal Highness the Prince or Princess of Cambridge.
