These nuns were on the tea run after a possible disaster was averted by an on-the-ball lorry driver.

The quick-thinking trucker avoided a desperate situation when his vehicle’s brakes failed on a steep hill.

The incident happened on the 1-in-4 gradient Chesterfield Road.

David Parkes deliberately drove his 32 ton lorry into the Presentation Convent boundary wall in an effort to stop the out-of-control terror truck.

Thanks to his actions no one was injured.

While the driver and police waited for recovery help Sister Esther and Sister Joseph supplied them with tea and biscuits.
