A Bakewell woman has launched an appeal to trace the little girl who owns a purse she discovered on the edge of town.

Rashelle Maltz-Jones was walking her dog in fields off Agricultural Way, on Sunday, April 26, when she came across the distinctive purse, which contains a phone, a toy and a penknife (pictured).

She says the rightful owner can contact her on [email protected] so they can arrange to pick it up.

Helpful Rachelle is currently working with an Ashbourne group of women, called Coverall Gowns for Careworkers.

So far they have made “well over 1,000 gowns and headbands” with donated duvets, pillowcases and sheets.

“We wash them at 60 degrees to destroy all the bugs,” she told the Derbyshire Times on Wednesday.
