Builder backs Guide Dogs

HOUSEBUILDER, David Wilson East Midlands, is pledging its continued support to Guide Dogs by housing the charity’s official 80th anniversary collection boxes at all its developments throughout the region.

This means that generous visitors to any David Wilson development in the East Midlands can make a donation to help raise funds for the cause.

Philip Lacey, sales director at David Wilson, said: “As a company, we’ve always supported Guide Dogs and we are delighted to be able to support the charity by having its anniversary collection boxes available at all our developments.”

Alison Selby, regional development fundraiser for Guide Dogs said: “We rely almost entirely on voluntary donations to fund our services.

“We’re extremely grateful to everyone from David Wilson Homes for continuing to support our charity.”

Staff working for the company helped to raise £5,000 that will be used to train a puppy that has been called Wilson to become the eyes of a visually impaired person.

The dog can then provide years of active service to its owner until it retires around the age of ten.
